One person dead as train collides with bus in Lagos, Nigeria.
An early morning passenger train on Wednesday in Lagos crushed a J-5 space wagon bus, resulting in the death of a man and causing serious injuries for two others.
Sources at the scene of the accident said that the accident occurred at about 6.45 a.m. at the railway crossing in Ikeja.
The bus with Reg. No. XE 899 FGG, was carrying three persons and goods and was going to Enugu from Oshodi, Lagos, the witnesses said.
They said, “It was impatient that caused the accident. The driver of the bus believed he could cross on time.
“While the train was fast approaching, the bus driver was not fast enough to cross before the train crushed it.
“The victims were taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where one later died,’’ the witnesses said.
